Ann Stratton, Photographer
"I remember at the age of 4 watching an image appear on paper in my father’s darkroom," Ann recalls. "It was magic, and it still is, to me. Although most of my work is now in color and digital, I find photography to have a magical quality to it.” - Ann Stratton
Ann Stratton spent her childhood surrounded by cameras. Her father was an amateur photographer who had his own darkroom; her grandfather was a photojournalist; and her great aunt was the first female naturalist photographer. It was only natural, then, that Ann herself would enter the industry.
Ann received formal education at Brooks Institute of photography, but her “real” education came from working as a professional photographer in NYC.
With a 30+ year career in the industry her clients include Martha Stewart Living, Crate & Barrel, Williams Sonoma, Godiva Chocolates, Food & Wine and Traditional Home.
Ann lives and loves photography. She currently lives in NYC with her two children and her husband, also a photographer.
“To work with Ann was both a pleasure and a learning experience. She is truly a professional, gifted with an artist’s eye for composition and color. Her taste is refined. She is an experienced perfectionist when it comes to attention to detail. Her personal style is to be soft-spoken and patient and easily the affable manager of the team at the photo shoot. I am so proud to have the results of our collaboration represented in my book.” Ricky Lauren, Author of The Hamptons Food, Family and History
